It was an even debate. I did not like how Obama and McCain ducked the last question. Understanding one's failures is important. I don't want a President who thinks he's infallible. I liked the subtle bits of racism by McCain.
"that one" - McCain
noice
Just a note, Michelle Obama shook hands and greeted the crowd. Cindy McCain stood at a distance with her hands behind her back.
Oh, and let us get back to a real debate format. This "town hall" situation sucked.

Town hall formats do suck Chasikins but it was funny watching McCain walk around with the mobility of an 80 year old man. Seriously, it is so funny how much McCain hates Obama. He is looking more and more like a cranky old man, which he is.
Oh and Keith Olbermann is jesus...why can't he run for president?

Because I have him trapped in my closet? ... ... *wakes up from dream* ... I expected McCain to use "friendo" (instead of "my friend" which he abused tonight) to match Palin's wink. McCain could have used it to soften his condescending statement to the second questioner. "You probably never heard of Freddie Mac or Fannie Mae, friendo." Much better.

McCain just despises Obama, he didn't look at him hardly at all during the first debate and he called him "that guy", looked arrogant, smug and all around like a douche the entire debate.
Funny how McCain wants more town hall formats because he thinks it is his forte, yet all the polls has Obama winning this thing by a good margin.

Keith Olbermann is the liberal Bill O'Reilly, for the record i think both are idiots They're all idiots. Each and every one of them tries to pass themselves off as legitimate news journalists with integrity coming out of their ass. At the end of the day, all of them are just yellow journalists. Sensationalists.

No doubt. I think what makes me most mad about Olmberman, is that he used to be a pretty good sports anchor, but now his head is so far up his own ass, it has actually gone full circle and come back out of his neck again. O'Reilly is just as bad, except he never had any witty comments on Sportscenter for me to remember.

Olbermann was my favorite sportscenter anchor... to be honest, I haven't been a big SC watcher since he left, more of an ESPNews guy now... I basially hate all political correspondants... I find O'Reilly to be fucking hillarious though.

I loved Olberman and Kilborn, and Kenny maine.
O'Reilly is funny. Especially that video of him going apeshit over the script.

Well I just got back from a 'debate party' hosted by the local democratic campaign office (to try and bill some volunteer hours for my 'service learning' requirement for a class)...it was pretty much what I expected but kind of rowdy considering the amount of old people there. They fucking cheered and clapped every time Obama finished an answer. I didn't do either, because what am I, a moron? Obama and McCain can't hear me, and I felt like saying so but again, this was a tongue-biting competition.
I felt overall Obama did better...had an edge on most of the questions except on education, where I leaned towards McCain's answer. The thing that made me feel crappy was the fact that when McCain mentioned Palin's kid with down's syndrome, the whole place did a sarcastic "DAWWWWWW!" Now, I am not a fan of Palin's at all, I don't like her, think she's a joke and a gimmick by the republican ticket but Jesus, show a little respect for a kid and a family that is dealing with a challenging disability. It's akin to those boneheads at the VP debate mocking Biden for getting choked up on the podium. Have some fucking decency.
Oh, and when McCain said "I'm not George Bush and if you wanted to run against him you should've run 4 years ago" I just laughed and said "burrrn" out loud, because in all honesty it was a pretty decent burn, and everyone gave me a sideways look, despite the fact they were ALL yelling and talking at the screen the whole time.
A fascinating exercise in American politics, and I got free pizza, so it wasn't a total waste.

My main question is, how come the Republicans are so eager to vote for someone who couldn't beat Bush 8 years ago?

Just because you serve in the military does not mean you will be a good teacher. Those tests are there for a reason, McCain.

My main question is, how come the Republicans are so eager to vote for someone who couldn't beat Bush 8 years ago? Because most people will vote for whoever has a (D) or (R) by their name no matter who they are, or what their agendas are.

Both sides have talked considerably about fraud. It was first reported in West Virginia that electronic voting machines changed Obama votes to votes for McCain right in front of the voter's eyes. It was also reported in several other states, including Texas. Republicans speak about ACORN and fraudulent registrations. However, as Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. discusses, it seems Republicans are simply using ACORN to distract people and the media while Republican supporters attempt to suppress voters and force key states to render in their favor. Many people are convinced that, electronic voting systems company, Diebold will outright steal the election for John McCain[/url]. How significant a role do you believe fraud will play in the election? Will it affect the outcome in any considerable way?
