Alright, I'll go by your definition of a "port".
Animal Crossing DS
Not a "pure port", it's a sequel. New items, online play, still boring as hell.
Super Mario DS
I assume you mean Super Mario 64 DS? Yes, that is a port.
Mario Kart DS
This one is debatable. The only thing that was ported from a previous version, were the retro cup tracks, and even then, I'm sure they were rebuilt from scratch. I'm going with not a port. Mario Kart 64 on the DS would've been a port, this qualifies as a sequel.
Diddy Kong Racing DS
Yeah, port.
The Kirby game
No.
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Have you even played Metroid Prime Hunters? It plays more like an actual first-person shooter, rather than the Metroid Prime games on the GameCube, which play more like the original Metroid titles and rely on exploration rather than just shooting. This is not a port.
The Pokeymans games on there
No.
Star Fox game
Sequel, not a port.
Yoshi game
See above.
Well, 2 out of 10 ain't bad.

Yep, exactly, it's what you perceive as a port. GTA games are sequels also. Syphon Filter, SEQUEL! Daxter, Ratchet & Clank, Killzone, all sequels.
So... yeah.

True. It all comes down to whether you'd rather play ten year old garbage like Tekken, or a classic like Super Mario 64.

Just because a company takes an old PS1 game, slaps a catchy tagline onto it, and releases it on the PSP doesn't even make it a sequel. Do these PSP "ports" do anything innovative and fresh with the controls and gameplay? Kirby: Canvas Curse, Starfox Command, and Metroid Prime Hunters are all games with controls impossible on other consoles.

There was an infomercial countdown on for the GTA IV trailer...

Seriously, what the hell was up with that infomercial? That scared the crap out of me. Is that what we've come to? A half an hour of a semi-blank screen that tells us when a TRAILER is hitting the net?
I bought God of War II used at gamestop today. It's a damn good game. Damn good.

I never would've imagined that the GTA series would've hit this level of hype. The original games were crappy ass piles of garbage, who would've imagined that it'd be the Super Mario Bros. of a generation. GTA IV will probably be a hardcore letdown. There's just no way they're going to be able to do anything truly innovative with it. You just can't make everything bigger and call it a sequel.
But anyway, I am looking forward to the trailer, and the game itself. It'll be fun to see what the setting will be. I hope they bring back the guy from GTA III, but I have a feeling they'll reboot everything and set it in New York and have a create-a-character system. Just pray it ain't set in London... Rockstar might as well shoot themselves in the foot.

It's okay, Lisa. GTA isn't cool anymore. Now, it's all about That's So Raven on the DS.

So, that copy of God of War II that I bought, I played it on someone elses PS2 because I bought it while I was with them. Of course, they had the newer PStwo. I take it home and no dice. I returned it today, and got a new copy of God of War II, and it doesn't work. Apparently the game has some issues running on older PS2 systems from what I've been reading. Gamestop better give me fucking store credit. How the hell am I supposed to know that Sony deemed it necessary to have anal sex with me by making the biggest game of the first half of the year only playable on a rereleased version of a console. It'd be like not letting me play brand new GBA games on my original GBA, only SP.

That's pretty weird. Maybe your PS2 is about to go? Mine has had trouble reading DVDs lately. I'm surprised it's lasted this long.

My PS2 has no problems reading anything. DVDs, PS2 games, PS1 games, they all work, I bought Burnout less than a month ago and it's fine. It's the game/system combo. It's not isolated to me either.

I got in a yelling match with the guy at Gamestop today. It came to a stalemate and he gave me Sony's number concerning God of War II. This should be fun. If I can, I should record the conversation.

So GameStop wouldn't give you your money back?

No, they would only credit me trade in value of 30 bucks. In hindsight, I should have taken a new copy in return, walked out the door, walked back in the door and said "Here is my unopened copy of God of War II and my receipt, store credit please".

At Wal-Mart, if you try to exchange a game that has been opened, they'll fucking open the new copy themselves. That pisses me off to no end. Bring on digital distribution.

I didn't call Sony yet, but they did send me an E-Mail telling me to call them and to also run a diagnostic program.

I think my PlayStation 2 is starting to fuck discs. I played a DVD on it, and now for some reason it freezes and then the same disc won't play on my other DVD players. Faggot asshole sandwiches.
