What are weird things you do for no particular reason in video games? In most sidescrolling platformers I always hold down B to run like in Super Mario Bros. I even hold down A in Sonic if I'm trying to do a really long jump. It's just second nature.

Yeah, I have a hard time playing platformers and even some action games without holding down a button. Even when it does ZERO. Also, I'm FREAKING out these days because racing games are starting to use the shoulder triggers for accelerate and breaking these days, which goes against everything I believe in.

In adventure games/RPGs I absolutely have to explore each and every nook and cranny of the environment just so I don't miss anything. And I'm always paranoid that I'm "playing it wrong".

I always feel like I'm playing RPGs in a way not intended.
I'm also terrified of random battles in RPGs. I do whatever I can to limit them and get angry when I'm in a dungeon and get randomly attacked just before a boss or exit.

I get really annoyed whenever they shoehorn stealth into a game that isn't built around it. Wind Waker is an example (though it was pulled off okay, not great). I'm not always in the mood for stealth action, and when I am I'll play Metal Gear.

I don't like games that think stealth means "GET CAUGHT: START OVER!"

Have you played Sly Cooper? It's basically Metal Gear Bandicoot. There were a few annoying things like having to start all over and one hit deaths but it's one of my favorite stealth games... and believe me that list isn't very long.

For platformers, I frequently test how far and high my character can jump. I just get paranoid that I won't have enough distance or height to clear jumps.
