I love the limited edition sets, but I've come to realize that they're a huge waste of money for me. I just play the game and don't bother watching any of the bonus DVDs and the last thing I need is more 'knick knacks'. They doesn't mean a lot of them aren't still badass though. Especially that Fallout 3 one.

That's incredible. I hear the Dead Space people are giving away a wearable Dead Space helmet. That's pretty bad ass. Still no beta key. I'm calling at 8 p.m. (CST) or when ever I wake up. I must play the beta before the work week. ...

I received my beta key as well. I'll give it a go tonight, but I don't expect it to be anywhere as solid as COD4.

Thoughts on the game so far Chase?
I have to say that I was mildly surprised with how much I've enjoyed the game so far. It doesn't feel as polished as Modern Warfare, but there is some genuine fun to be had here with multiplayer. I've never been a big fan of World War II shooters, but I could see myself picking this one up.
Overall the game definitely feels slower and I was initially completely turned off by the pace of the game, but that was just me adjusting. Once I played a couple of matches I was able to find a gun I was comfortable with and I was no scoping my way to 23-3 victories in Team Deathmatch. I'm not overly impressed with the visuals of the game, especially the ugly menu interface, but the Modern Warfare gameplay is still at the roots of the game and that's all I care about.

I feel I could like World at War, which is weird. I also concur that World at War beta does not feel as polished as Call of Duty 4. For example, movement is less smooth and somewhat clunky, like Battlefield: Bad Company. One new feature I dig is how the party leader can back out and take the entire party with them. That is probably the best feature they added, thus far. I only played the demo for a few hours. I'll have more thoughts later tonight.

My brain is so focused on just 2 games coming out this month that I can't even comprehend or even remember to get or want other games I want to play. Like CoD.

I stopped playing the beta because a.) I don't want to be tired of the game before it releases, and b.) I'm more than a little burnt out on the shooter genre.

I'm back to playing the World at War beta. Just a couple minutes ago, I captured three flags in a row to win the match in a very short game of War.

CliffsNotes since I already typed this out a couple times.
In single-player campaign mode, the team AI is quite bad and very noticeable/bothersome in Veteran difficulty. They leave enemies for you to shoot/they don't shoot people within a one-foot radius. It makes little sense to give the ability to revive teammates, but not program said teammates to revive you when you're down.
Outside of Flamethrower and Second Chance, the perk selection is disappointing. Reconnaissance (the ability to see artillery strikes and tanks on one's radar) is practically useless as we can track artillery strikes in the sky and see tanks, uh, with our eyes). It would have been neat if Tree Climbing, Play Dead, and Katana were more than rumor.
As suspected, Multiplayer is great and infinitely better with a troop of friends. The map design is leaps and bounds better than Call of Duty 4. The attention to detail seen in cover spots and terrain design, and the size of some maps really differentiate it from Call of Duty 4 in a good way.
