Seen this about a week ago and I heard it got a perfect ten on some site and on ign the press ratings gave it a 9. Anybody hear about this? ps3.ign.com/objects/949/949457.htmlI'm guessing it's all first person. EDIT: PLEASE MOVE TO PLAYSTATION BOARD

Mirrors Edge is a good looking game, but it's supposed to be painfully short. It's a first person game without a focus on guns and a focus on evasive maneuvers like running, jumping, climbing, and disarming. You can still shoot, but it's not really necessary.

I've been thinking about picking this up, but the demo left a bad taste in my mouth. They've said that there were a bunch of different paths you could take to get to your destination, but that wasn't the case in the demo. In addition to that the level that they showed would only allow you to back track to a certain point and then they had some not so ingenius ways to keep you from going further, curved platforms you couldn't climb up. That really pissed me off especially when I actually got a hold of the platform and Faith wouldn't climb it.
The game is still on my radar, but I doubt I'll be buying it anytime soon, if at all.

I think it'll be a great play through game, but I suspect that a sequel will be better. Or at least have this game inspire another game that does this, but better and longer.

I just thought it was going to allow more 'free roaming', but within the confines of a single level. That doesn't appear to be the case and that makes me sad.

I suspect Mirror's Edge will bore. While I dig the art style, the environments look sterile and undifferentiated. I also do not dig its focus on time trials. That emphasis really lessens my interest in the title. I appreciate the alternative, gun disabling combat, and would like to see that move added to shooters. However, when the dust settles I feel Mirror's Edge will wind up as disappointing as Assassin's Creed.

I played the demo a couple times and enjoyed it. It's going on the Christmas list for sure.

I do, but I really think this is a niche market game.

From what I keep reading/hearing, it sounds like a good weekend rental.
It seems no one wants to be too harsh because they like the concept/mechanics and don't want to discourage the developers.
