Please don't make me ask people at WF to help me. Alright so....I think my computer is fucked. Two weeks ago, I left two torrents downloading and then I went to work. When I came home, they were finished and when I went to play one, my cpu usage shot up to 100% and everything was slow as hell. Now it shoots up to 100% even when I have hardly anything running. My sound is complete shit (I compare it to if you were burning a disc and trying to watch something at the same time...it skips and sounds really distorted, it also affects the video at times as well). I have read and tried so many things over the last two weeks and nothing has worked. The sound is also terrible when I'm clicking on different folders and such and emptying the recycle bin. Any ideas? The only thing I've done differently as of late is having to unplug my modem so that I can connect it to the Xbox but I did that for a good week before I had any problems. PS- I use AVG and Spybot..both say my computer is clean. If you know of better ones to use, please tell me.

Trying it now and letting it run while I sleep. Thanks.

Also I would suggest running House Call. When you're on your PC and it's running slow open up the task manager and see what process is eating up the most memory. If it's something you don't recognize do a Google search for it and it'll tell you what it is.

You could try doing a system restore to a date prior to downloading those torrents, if their suggestions don't work.

I tried Malwarebyte, it found nothing. Also I would suggest running House Call. When you're on your PC and it's running slow open up the task manager and see what process is eating up the most memory. If it's something you don't recognize do a Google search for it and it'll tell you what it is. Thanks, I'm trying it right now. Can I get rid of AVG? I only have the 30 day trial for House Call though. As for the task manager, I've been looking at it constantly for the last two weeks, hoping to see something that would explain why I'm having problems but nothing out of the ordinary comes up. I've looked up every .exe on there and have disabled the ones that aren't necessary to run the computer.

So the scan revealed that I had some spyware called Adware MemWatcher and it says that it was successfully quarantined. Do I have to do anything else besides that? The speed has improved it seems and no longer shoots up to 100% usage for no reason.
The sound and sometimes the video is still quite shitty. Any idea if this could be a RAM issue?
