Final Fantasy is on the road to its 13th game in the long running series. This entry into the series has somewhat peaked my interest. However, I just haven't been that interested in the series since Final Fantasy IX (excluding VIII, I didn't care for that). Is anyone still a die hard Final Fantasy fan? Which was your favorite? Are you going to get Final Fantasy XIII?

I am most certainly getting Final Fantasy XIII. My favorites will always be III(VI) and II(IV). Of the 3D games, FF IX is my personal favorite. And I think FF XII gets a bad rap, it's a great game. I own all the main franchise games, from I-XII and most of the spin offs brands. I'm not even that hardcore into the series, it's just that good games are good games.
FFXIII will be interesting, since it's more than just one game. I can't wait to see what FF Versus XIII is going to be like.

I am. Final Fantasy II (IV) is still my favorite game of all-time. I have bought every FF so far, why stop now? I have enjoyed all of them.

Yeah FFIII (VI) is easily my favorite in the series. It's my second favorite game of all time. I liked all of them up through IX sans XIII. I just couldn't get into X and I never tried XI or XII, but XIII looks like it's shaping up nicely.

XII is probably a game you should try out at least, since the combat is totally changed from the rest.

I confess, I don't like XI. I don't really count it since it is a MMORPG. However I did like 12 a lot, even if I wasn't crazy about the combat system. Some of the characters were really cool.

I've tried to like the Final Fantasy series but I just can't. I think it is because I fucking despise turned based games.

They kinda lost me with XI... I have XII but never got into it. I may pick it up one day if I have time.
II(IV Japan) and VII are tied for my favorites. VIII kind of lost me, it was playable, and OK, but the characters lacked depth. Its all about the main character, and with II, and VII, Cecil and Cloud respectively were strong characters, and I never really had an attachment to Squall.
Some may kill me for this, but IX is the most underrated f the series. It was a fun game, the characters were fun... a little wacky, but fun.

IX is, without a doubt, the most overlooked Final Fantasy game ever.

I love the Final Fantasy series and I can't wait for whatever decade XIII comes out in the U.S.

IX is, without a doubt, the most overlooked Final Fantasy game ever. I think a lot of people look at it as a throwaway game, because it was kinda at the end of psx, and beginning of ps2, when it came out... and it got lost in the shuffle of the ps2 release. I like it a lot more than VIII, thats for damn sure.
