I would TOTALLY go out of my way to see a Pee-Wee Herman Show stage show in this day and age.

Hopefully they'll release it on DVD. And maybe this will lead to me getting my fucking Playhouse movie.

Oh and apparently Gary Panter (set designer on Playhouse) told a fan that he and Reubens were developing a Pee-wee's Playhouse animated series... set in outer space!

I'm not sure if I'm behind a full out Pee-Wee return. Something like a traveling stage act sounds like a better idea.

I've wanted to see the franchise return since the day CBS pulled the show. I've been hoping for a comeback ever since, I don't care if he ruins it, it's just something I need to see. There were rumblings he was gonna bring it back around 1995 when he started guesting on Murphy Brown, then the VHS boxsets came out, then news surfaced that he was making a new movie.
It's a shame that his private life is so scandalous, because that is really holding back a great property. This is why I think he should hand the bow tie to Johnny Depp or turn Pee-wee into an animated character... less baggage. The original puppeteers must be on board though... they WERE Pee-wee's Playhouse.

Tim Burton-esque claymation Pee-Wee movie would be pretty rad.

If they are making a new movie, Tim Burton needs to be involved in some capacity. It would be cool to see everything re-imagined Burton-style. Imagine an even creepier looking Chairry.

A Tim Burton Dog Chair would be fucking terrifying.

I hope to god this new stage show will be filmed and sold in some capacity. And hopefully he lost some weight.

And they'd better bring back the Mr. Bungle segment and the Sly Stone tribute. The inclusion of the Playhouse characters worries me a little though. Looks like it's gonna be a blend of all Pee-wee universes and not a direct recreation of the original Groundlings show. Maybe they can make it work.

I'm pretty sure like a lot of comedy troupe shows, if it's successful, they won't just limit it to a handful of shows in L.A.

If we don't get to see it, we can put on our own show at the local drama center. I'll be Pee-wee. JJ you're Jambi. Maybe we can fit Lisa inside Conky.

Yes. You can be Mr. Window, Randy, Clocky, Floory and Mr. Kite. I do PERFECT Pterri, Globey, and Magic Screen voices. And I think Fireplacey should be fleshed out as a central character.

You know what needs to happen? Pee-wee's Playhouse: The Video Game. I've always been surprised there wasn't one on the NES. Think about it, Magic Screen levels, Magic Glasses levels (putmeon!) scooter levels and venturing out into Puppetland.

As cliche as it sounds, I always thought in this day and age, that a Pee-Wee party game for something like XBLA would be a pretty good idea. The atmosphere suits that genre well.

I am scared that this is going to be one huge disaster. He did not look fit at all at the Spike TV awards in 2007. Chances are, most of the characters will be played by new actors. There is no way in hell he's getting Fishburne back. I don't want anyone else playing Cowboy Curtis. And I really hope Captain Carl is retired...

I don't have a problem with Paul Reubens and Lynne Stewart reprising their roles for a stage show, but if they do go ahead with the movie, they will absolutely have to reboot the entire cast. This would be my ideal situation:
Pee-wee Herman - Johnny Depp Miss Yvonne - Christine Taylor King of Cartoons - Morgan Freeman Cowboy Curtis - Cedric Yarbrough Reba the Mail Lady - S. Epatha Merkerson (why not?) Ricardo - Antonio Sabato Jr. Mrs. Renee - Roseanne Barr

My digital cable guide confirms it will, indeed, be Pee-wee Herman appearing, not Paul Reubens hocking some stupid side project. This could be good... or extremely awkward. We'll see.
