Was the 3DO Road Rash the last one? I actually remember it being pretty decent.

There was a game called Road Rash Jailbreak on the original Playstation and was later "ported" over to the GBA. PSone version was I think '99. GBA version came out like, five years later for some reason.

This is completely off topic, but WHAT in the holy hell happened to the SSX series?

I was wondering that myself. That was one of the games I picked up at the launch of the PS2 and I absolutely loved it. I never bothered to play the sequels, but I have an overwhelming urge to play another one. There was a Wii game a while ago that came out to mixed reviews.

SSX Tricky was SO GOOD, play it if you get the chance. SSX3 was really great too, after that though it's like they just quit even caring anymore.

EA is convinced that there is no market for SSX or snowboarding anymore and there hasn't been enough fan outcry for the franchise to return. The Wii SSX was really good once you got the hang of the control scheme.

SSX was truly a landmark PS2 title. It was one of the games I showed people when I got the system. That one and Dynasty Warriors 2 blew me away.

Road Rash was one of my favorite games of all time for the original Sega. A great innovative approach to the traditional racing game...Road Rash 64 took it even further. I still play that one fairly regularly as a mindless fun-inducer.
I also have the PC version, which I enjoyed, but found difficult to stomach at times graphics-wise. When you'd hit those city sections of the tracks and the buildings had...oh, 2 textures to work with...I'd feel like I was about ready to cough cubes.
