Secret of the Ooze is actually my favorite of the original three movies.

Yeah, I still love II as well. Truth be told, I don't HATE III, that's not to say I like it, but I don't hate it. It's got some redeeming qualities to it. Again, though, of the four movies, it's the worst by a MILE.
Also, the "movie" for the new Transformers cartoon was on today. If you can look past the pretty much horrible character designs, the show has potential.

TMNT 3 isn't THAT bad. It sure wasn't the movie I wanted it to be, but still it's a fun movie. It would've been mindblowing epic though if they had adapted a storyarc from the comic, like Return to New York.

National Treasure 2: 4/5. Liked it a lot, but not as much as the first one actually. The ongoing shit with Nicolas Cage and his girlfriend was so stupid and really very distracting. But it had an interesting (if completely im-fucking-plausible) storyline. Thumbs up overall. Oh, and since I got it and promptly watched it yesterday: 1,000,000,000,000,000,000/5

Juno
This movie blew me away, Ellen Page came outta no where and gave an awesome performance. I loved this movie, one of the best all around movies I've seen in a while.

I just finished watching ALL of the Star Trek movies again. My trip to Vegas inspired it. From the motion picture through Nemesis.

I'm going to run down a bunch of movies I watched recently. I've been on a huge movie kick as of late with having nothing else better to do.
3:10 to Yuma: This is now my second favorite western after Tombstone. Crowe is just perfect as Ben Wade and has kick ass one liners. Even though you are supposed to hate him as the bad guy, it is impossible not to like how big of a badass he is. Bale is perfect in this movie as well as the dime ranch farmer who is broke to the bank and decides to help take Wade to the train station for cash. If you like westerns, check this one out. It clocks in at around two hours but it just flies by, 9/10.
Charlie Wilson's War: Man, I know why Hanks was nominated for a Golden Globe for this movie now. He is just awesome as Charlie Wilson and throughout the movie just doesn't give a flying fuck. Unfortunately for Hanks, he is completely outshined by Hoffman who had me laughing my ass off within the first 20 minutes of the film. Julia Roberts is good too but isn't in this movie as much as I thought she was going to be. Maybe I just watched this late at night but I thought it started to kind of slow down a lot towards the end or maybe it was because the first hour of the film kicks so much ass that the 2nd half just couldn't live up to it. Either way, if you are a history buff or like Hanks or Hoffman, check it out. Definitely worth your time, 8/10.
The Prestige: What can I say about this movie that hasn't already been said? This is seriously one of my favorite movies because I notice something different with the story every time I watch it and the performances by Bale, Caine and Jackman are great. I can't stress enough how good of a director Nolan with this film and everything looks great and is shot great. I know it seems like I am giving all of the movies here high marks but I really enjoyed most of them. Prestige is no different, 9/10.
Ocean's 13: Another rewatch but I still love it. I was a bit weary about this film after Ocean's 12 sucked but they took it back to Vegas and added a bunch of comedic elements to make this a good addition (conclusion?) to the franchise. Pacino was a good addiction to the already great cast and while I would have preferred more action around the heist, it is fun movie overall, 8/10.
Zodiac: This is a movie that is completely driven by a good cast in perfect roles. It is really fun to watch Jake Gyllenhaal go from a shy cartoonist to a zodiac killer obsessed man who eventually writes a book on the subject. Every character in this movie evolves over the two and a half hour run time of the flick, especially Robert Downey Jr., who I could have used a little bit more of. This film REALLY starts to drag once the killings stop about half way through and almost turns into a one man play for Gyllenhaal. I would suggest this movie, but only if you really love thrillers and can stand the really long run time, 7/10.

Juno This movie blew me away, Ellen Page came outta no where and gave an awesome performance. I loved this movie, one of the best all around movies I've seen in a while. I loved it too. Probably the best movie I've seen since Little Miss Sunshine. Ellen Page was awesome and the fact that she's from around the Maritimes is pretty damn cool. Even though the Globes were cancelled, I still hope she wins tonight.

TMNT 6.5/10
It just doesn't feel like TMNT 4, and I guess it isn't supposed to be. I tried my best to watch this through the eyes of a child. The animation is fan-fucking-tastic, though I don't like how people are rendered. It's a little too Pixar for my tastes.
The story was lame (and felt pretty non-existent through most of it actually) but the action was great. The Leo/Raph confrontation was awesome. Still I think this movie would've fared MUCH better as a PG-13/R-rated movie based on the comics. I know they were talking to John Woo a couple years ago about doing one. I still hope for something like that in the future.
Still though, for what this is, a kids movie, it was pretty good. I'd like to see a sequel, and the way they pretty much set it up for one, I could see it being much better than this.

Oh yes, the sequel MUST be PG-13 at the very least. The Simpsons Movie was PG-13, and it did pretty damn good at the box office.

3:10 to Yuma: 5/5 First western I've ever watched and I'm so happy I did watch it.
Over the Top: 4/5 I Can't believe how serious arm wrestling is, but that bratty fucking kid was so god damned annoying.
Eraser: 5/5 You just fucking can't go wrong with Willamina Slater from Ugly Betty, Liz from Nip Tuck, and Ed Deline from Las Vegas.

FIRST FUCKING WESTERN?!?! Go buy god damn Tombstone right the fuck now. Then get Once Upon the Time in the West.
I saw Cloverfield last night. It's not like it doesn't have it's flaws, but it's fucking awesome. I'm a huge fan of the Godzilla franchise, and it's heart is there all the way, just done in a different perspective.

Rambo
Okay if this is possible, this movie easily exceeded all my expectations for it. This was just fucking amazing, the manliest movie ever made in my opinion. People just got fucked up in this movie, and I have never heard so many outbursts of OH YEA, FUCK YEA, and bursts of clapping. This was just the perfect way to end this series, the ending of the film was great in my opinion, good job on Stallone for the writing, directing and acting. I'd love to see the total body count from this movie. If you're looking for one kickass movie to start off your year, this is it, no need to look anywhere else.
10/10
