Theoretically, it should be easy to use NES and SNES controllers on Wii. It would just involve some kind of dongle that rearranged the pinouts. Oh, if only there were some organization devoted to jerryrigging old controllers to work with modern-day ports!
WAIT A SECOND
Brilliant. The gang over at Retrozone, famous for their NES-to-USB convertors, are taking preorders on devices that'll do the same thing for Wii. The adapters, for NES and SNES controllers, will cost $19 each and plug right into the GameCube controller ports on the Wii's side.blog.wired.com/games/2006/11/use_old_control.htmlHoly crap!

Not sure if I'll get one, I'll be fine with the Wii Retro controller.

This is a great idea.
I have too many damn controllers laying around in my living room as it is (3 Wii remotes, 3 nunchucks, classic, tv remotes, dvd remote, etc.). Really cool idea, though. The CC works fine now (although the joysticks can get very close together), so I'll stick with that.

I can't find the damn classic controller anywhere. I couldn't imagine playing a lot of those games on a GameCube pad. I have piles of NES/SNES controllers that I'd be thrilled to use with the Wii.
I've been meaning to jam a USB cable into an NES controller for a while now, but just never got around to it.
