Apparently camping out inside of Nintendo until 1st Quarter 2007. I believe it when I see it.

gonintendo.com/?p=14179Hopefully, this will be a little better than New Super Mario Bros. Nothing against NSMB, I loved the crap out of it, but it just wasn't what I was expecting. I was kinda hoping for a game with semi-Lost Levels difficulty, with the power-ups of Super Mario Bros. 3, but it turned out to be Super Mario Bros. Junior Travel Edition.

This is the first Paper Mario that has gotten my attention. Man, I need to get more money.

Man, the aspect shift is one of the coolest play mechanics I've seen in a game in a long while.

I was kinda expecting a platformer more along the lines of something like Super Mario Bros. 3 meets Super Mario 64, but that isn't the case at all. It's way too RPG-ish for my liking... not that I'm really complaining, but a straightforward platformer would've been much more fun.

I'd like that more also I imagine, but I've yet to try it, so I'll just wait to give it a whirl. It looks very impressive.

Anyone else think this game would've been better off as a pure platformer with sprites from the Paper Mario games? I'm sorry, but I'm sorta disappointed with this.

I'm not disappointed at all. I new full well what they were going to do. If anything, It's better than I though, I don't know where you are in the game, but it feels really platformy to me. Very rarely do I feel like I'm not playing a modernized platformer.

I knew this was going to be an RPG/platformer hybrid, but from what I've played so far, the platforming elements have really disappointed me. It would've worked so much better as pure platformer, with an overworld and a few RPG elements. It seems too focused on puzzles, and it just doesn't flow all that well.

I know I sound like a little bitch, but I just want a real Mario platformer in the vein of Super Mario Bros. 3. Yoshi's Story, Super Mario Sunshine, New Super Mario Bros., Yoshi's Island DS, all disappointed the hell out of me.
Super Paper Mario had the potential to be so much better. Imagine being able to flip in Super Mario Bros. 3, and the gameplay suddenly morphs into Super Mario 64. It feels like they've dropped the ball.

Just started chapter 5. I'm taking it as slow as I possibly can to make it last until Super Mario Galaxy. So help me god Nintendo if you delay that.

3 huge properties are supposed to come out at around the same time. Somethings got to give. I see it being Metroid, but Smash Bros. is more likely. I think if Nintendo wants to keep the momentum going through the Christmas season, they HAVE to release Super Mario.

I think they need to release all three of those games, and close together, if they want to compete with GTA IV and Halo 3. I mean, a majority of Wii owners seem to be pretty disenchanted with the current line-up. Besides, they have all kinds of shit they could bring out for next year and beyond. Mario Kart, Animal Crossing, Zelda, F-Zero, Pilotwings, Wave Race, and there is a treasure trove of stuff they NEED to bring back from the dead, Earthbound, Kid Icarus, StarTropics, etc.

I'm okay with waiting for one, maybe Galaxy, although I would be lying if I'd say I wouldn't be upset. The way I see it, I'm going to be so busy with games that I'll never have time to truly appreciate each one until a few months into 2008. A huge hit coming out in April would be awesome. I absolutely must play Brawl though, so no pushing that one, Ninny!

I can honestly say I'm not really looking forward to Metroid Prime 3. I mean, I loved the original Metroid games, but I got Metroid Prime right after it came out and I didn't really have the will to touch it again after I popped it in for the first time. Metroid games just work better as sidescrollers.
