Just for fun. And no, I don't work at Nintendo. *Miyamoto and Reggie sword fight in the background, while Perrin Kaplan crawls out from under Iwata's desk, and spits in the trash* 1. Have you downloaded any virtual console games? If so, which game(s) have you downloaded?

1. Have you downloaded any virtual console games? If so, which game(s) have you downloaded?
Yes. Donkey Kong Junior, Wario's Woods, R-Type, Gunstar Heroes, and Mario Kart 64.
2. What currently unlisted game(s) would you like to see come to the virtual console?
I wanna see a lot of the obscure stuff. I love the classic Nintendo games as much as anyone, but I already own pretty much the entire Super Mario and Zelda catalogs. Where's our Earthbound, River City Ransom, and Knuckles Chaotix?
I'm glad we're getting Turbografx stuff, since no one gave a fuck about it in the 90s. It's awesome to see a revival of stuff a lot of us have never played.
3. Would you ever consider buying a game on the virtual console that you already own in some form? If so, why?
I have purchased Mario Kart 64, since my N64 controllers have gone to shit and for the convenience of not having to hook up the old N64. Not to mention, the thing just uglies the fuck out of the whole room. That's worth $10 to me.
I have an unofficial rule, of not buying a game on the virtual console if I already own two copies, which puts out the Mario and Zelda games. I own all the Mario ports on the Game Boy and DS, as well as the originals. Same goes for Zelda. I might re-purchase something if Nintendo ever starts giving out free points.
4. Do you feel the current pricing structure is fair?
Some of the early NES games are way overpriced, but I'd have no problem shelling out $5 for something like Kirby's Adventure.
5. Would you like to see classic games graphically enhanced?
Just the N64 games, and even then, only clean them up a bit. But please, leave the rest of them alone.
6. Would you like to see classic games eventually make use of motion controls?
Only stuff like Super Glove Ball, and Arkanoid, and SNES titles that used the mouse.
7. What accessories do you think could enhance the experience of playing classic games on the Wii?
We need an arcade stick that is styled after the Advantage, and matches the Wii.
8. How do you think the virtual console could improve?
We're gonna need a memory expansion of some sort. I'm hoping Nintendo will release a USB flash drive that will allow you to store hundreds of channels.
9. Which classic system(s) would you like to see come to the virtual console?
It probably won't happen, but I want all the best Saturn stuff on there. Nintendo would have to give the Wii some sort of memory upgrade first though.
10. Do you feel digital distribution is the future? If so, do you welcome it?
Digital distribution could be the standard in another 10-20 years. I'm honestly afraid of it. If I'm blowing my money on entertainment, I want something physical that I can actually hold in my hands and put on a shelf. Video games have always been like baseball cards to me.

1. Have you downloaded any virtual console games? If so, which game(s) have you downloaded? How could I resist? Thus far, I have purchased Mario Bros., Altered Beast, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Bonk, Super Mario Bros., and Super Mario World.2. What currently unlisted game(s) would you like to see come to the virtual console?I'm not fully up-to-date on the recent ESRB list, but I really want to see Punch Out!, WCW/NWO Revenge (not counting on it), WWF No Mercy (not counting on it), Bubble Bobble, Aero the Acrobat, Adventure Island II, Super Smash Bros., Mario Party 1-3, Metal Gear 1 and 2, Donkey Kong Country 2, Rush Extreme Racing, Road Rash II, Super Mario Bros. 2 (Japan), and tons of others that slip my mind. 3. Would you ever consider buying a game on the virtual console that you already own in some form? If so, why?I already have. It's not because I don't know how to control myself, it's because of two reasons: 1) I want motivation to fully master a game that I once beat many years ago and 2) the games I already own that I will buy are only like $8 or less. No big deal when you have a bunch of Wii Points cards laying around. I won't buy EVERYTHING I have, not even half probably, but I will buy games that I feel are worth checking out again. 4. Do you feel the current pricing structure is fair?I actually don't mind it at all, but it could (and probably should) be a tad lower. NES $3, SNES/TGPHX/SEGA $5, N64 $8 seems more adequate to me. A game like Donkey Kong or Mario Bros. should NOT be 5 dollars to purchase, but of course, people will still buy them (and I admittedly bought Mario Bros. to play with friends). 5. Would you like to see classic games graphically enhanced?Only under special circumstance. I think many of us big old school gamers prefer our games to remain how we remembered them. I will divulge into these sort of enhancements later. 6. Would you like to see classic games eventually make use of motion controls?Same answer as above. 7. What do you think could enhance the experience of playing classic games on the Wii?For the love of God, ONLINE MULTI-PLAYER AND FIXED SLOW-DOWN! It doesn't have to be anything fancy. I just want these games to bring back my desire to play them all again regularly. 8. How do you think the virtual console could improve? The Virtual Console could improve with the addition of a new channel...a kind of sub-channel. I believe Nintendo and friends have this planned for the future (but we all know how that goes with them sometimes): brand new games, brand new sequels to old school games, enhanced special editions of gaming classics, and trial demos. That, mixed in with online multi-player, would be bitchin'. They also need to fix emulation problems some games have. Mario Kart 64 has out of control speed problems at times, Super Mario World has very slight glitches when being small on Yoshi, and Mario Kart 64 (again) needs to support the memory pak in the form of Wii Memory. The VC is pretty freakin' good so far. It has much time to grow into something spectacular. 9. Which classic system(s) would you like to see come to the virtual console?Gameboy and Gameboy color games that can be transfered to your DS somehow. Maybe they can start selling blank DS cards to can somehow get data from the Wii burned onto them. Sega Saturn is another console I'd love to see on the Wii. I only owned a Saturn for probably half a year back in the day. 10. Do you feel digital distribution is the future? If so, do you welcome it?It's definitely the future - no question about it. My generation and those around it are savvy enough with computers/digital devices and understand the concept of digital transferring enough to make the market a successful reality in the not so distant future. Do I welcome it? Well, not entirely. There's just something about the idea of a digital world that kind of scares me. I don't like the idea of not actually owning anything - having it in my hands. I love looking at album artwork for music and boxart for video games (an image on the computer is not the same). I do, however, love the idea of costs being cut due to a lack of manufacturing of games, music, software, etc. That's a total benefit. I'd rather have to hunt things down in a store. I mean, we're going to eventually hit a point where you virtually have no reason to leave your house. I don't like the sound of that at all. I like going to a store on a new release day, hoping to find something I've been looking forward to on the shelf. If it's digital, it's just...there. It's not exciting. Maybe I'm just weird.

I'm hoping for a channel that will allow you to store your virtual console games, much like a computer folder. Just click on the channel, and organize your games from system to system, alphabetical, or however you want. They're gonna have to find some way of upgrading the memory. You can only store so much crap on that little thing.
