Watch it only come out for the 360 and PS3.

That's actually probably a really strong possibility. Arcades are dead in the states,I bet it will come out on arcade cabinets, but it'll do best for console release. XBLA and I think PSN are getting an HD update to Super Street Fighter II Hyper Fighting.

Is there a reason Capcom wouldn't port it to the Wii?

It depends on how they're developing it. If they are developing it to be run in Hight Def like the new Street Fighter II HD update, then it just wouldn't work out, since the best the console can do is 480p.

The Wii actually is about the same as an original XBox, but the developers just don't feel like creating a third dev team to make moderate looking games. It's either PS2 or PS3, no in between

I'm done trolling now. So, what if, hypothetically, this gets released ONLY in arcades, and NOT on consoles, could it possibly spark interest in arcades again, or would it be a massive fail? I'm sure it'll come to consoles, that would be silly, but Street Fighter IV has always been a sorta mythical game that I've always hoped would come to save arcades.

It will never work. The arcade died in the US a long time ago. The only hot items in America are gimmick games, like DDR or Bemani games. I always assumed Street Fighter was more popular here than in Japan, but I really don't know. In Japan, the arcade is still strong and alive, so it's going to be put into cabinets I'm almost sure of it, but nothing can save the arcade in the states anymore. Games have gotten far more casual and even though more people are playing with strangers now than ever, gaming is still more secluded now than it ever has been.

Also, it doesn't help that arcades are kinda seedy now. More so than they used to be.

Back before our arcade closed, it was basically Goth Kids R Us.

Well JJ, I ask about Capcom not wanting to port it to the Wii, because the N64 and GC got jack shit as far as Capcom fighters go.
The GBA got Alpha 3, and I think Puzzle Fighter, but otherwise, it's like they just don't want to deal with Nintendo in general.

Oooooo...Pretty Also, does this not make sense to anyone else? "According to Blogeek, Street Fighter IV will take place some time between Super Street Fighter II Turbo and Street Fighter III" Uh buh?

There really is surprisingly deep story for the Street Fighter games. But not deep enough to make that stupid statement.

I played SFIV at a bowling alley next to the theater I saw Zack and Miri at. It's amazingly awesome. Soo good looking, and plays pretty much exactly like SFII.
