HOLY CRAP! THIS GAME IS AMAZING! I may just throw my brand new copies of Alan Wake, Split/Second, Red Dead Redemption, and Bioshock 2 in the fucking garbage, because now that's what they are.

As of right now, according to GameRankings.com, Mario Galaxy 2 is the highest rated game of all time, beating out Ocarina of Time. Now, this will probably change, because the original Galaxy did the same thing but a couple of average reviews later just barely pushed it out of the spot.

I'll have to get it for my girlfriend, since I sold my Wii a little while back. I am interested in playing it.

It does a lot of cool stuff. Gone is a central hub, it's now overworld maps. There are sidescrolling levels now, and even a Mario 64 level.

I really need to get the game, after reading some reviews it sounds a lot better than I thought it was going to be. I still really need to pick up Red Dead and Split/Second(40 bucks at best buy next week, how can I pass up on that?) though.

In all honesty, Mario Galaxy 2 is way better than both of those games. I LOVE Split/Second too, and RDR is a hoot, but this is just a prime cut of gaming meat.

I am honestly starting to think this is my favorite Mario game yet.

The original Super Mario Galaxy is seriously in my top ten, maybe top five favorite games ever. I can't wait to get this.

It is quite amazing, I have been playing it non-stop when I am not at work. It's my favorite game I have played in a while.

I genuinely think it's one of THE BEST games to come out this entire console generation.

... best Mario game ever? Will I get lynched for saying that?

No, because I'm REALLY leaning towards that option myself.

I don't think I can bump Super Mario Bros. 3 and Super Mario World (tied) out of that spot though. It's definitely the best 3D Mario. I never have to play Super Mario 64 or that abomination Super Mario Sunshine ever again.

Have you guys noticed this? There's a pattern Nintendo seems to be making with the 3D Mario titles.
Super Mario 64 = Super Mario Bros. Both are revolutionary yet basic given things to come.
Super Mario Sunshine = Super Mario Bros. 2. Bastard children of the Mario series (3D and 2D).
Super Mario Galaxy = Super Mario Bros. 3. Suit power-ups, airships.
Super Mario Galaxy 2 = Super Mario World. Yoshi.
Maybe a fully 3D Yoshi's Island is next!

It's not weird that I'm REALLY excited to see what they are planning for Mario on the 3DS right?

They'll probably port Super Mario Sunshine.

Actually, a Super Mario Sunshine remake would be AWESOME if they could fix some of the glaringly obvious problems. But they would have to change the gameplay so much that it would be better to just make an entirely new game. Portable 3D Mario would be great with the new analog stick thing.

I do too. But since it is a Mario game, I have certain expectations. And this one fulfilled only a few of them.
