The problem is, you hate everything, including life and find joy in nothing but NyQuil watching Debbie Gibson in that new Burger King commercial. He's right you know.

So after seeing the preview on X Play last night, I've decided I have to have Scribblenauts. Any game you can draw a Dingo and a Baby in, is a must have.

You're just now getting the good word of Scribblenauts? It's a lot of peoples most anticipated game of '09. And that's including console stuff.

Speaking of Scribblenauts, it's fantastic. Sure, it controls like a sack of shit, but the concept and freedom you get makes up for it. It's just way too amusing. I find myself picking it up in spurts when I think about solving a puzzle I was stuck on.

Yeah, the controls are pretty bad. I can't count how many times I've had to restart a level because I tapped the wrong spot on the screen, and my roflcopter fell into a pit of lava. Also found out something today. Type in stuff like office, living room, or kitchen, and you get all the objects associated with them, but it doesn't go against your par for some reason.

I'm starting to think I might not be clever enough for some of the levels in that game. I think my favorite word so far is 'Mech'. I love walking around in a giant robot fighting a sasquatch and a yeti.

My favorite is LHC, just because it's ridiculous and can only use it effectively 1 out of every 10 times.

I'm going to have to try that one. Time machine and teleporter are pretty fun as well, I tried those last night.

I only like it because it's so goofy, all it does is explode into a blackhole. You can just conjure up a black hole, but it doesn't have the humor factor of "RIPPED FROM TODAY'S HEADLINES!"

Anyone care to rattle off about... ten DS games I might've missed over the last two years? Haven't really been keeping up to date with the DS scene lately.

I'd recommend the Prof. Layton games if you like puzzle games and The Word End With You if you like RPG games.

Contra 4 if you don't have it. The new Mario and Luigi game is nothing short of greatness. The Final Fantasy remakes are still great, as are the Dragon Quest remakes. Rhythm Heaven is awesome. Try GTA if you prefer the original games to the 3D ones and like dealing drugs to the Chinese. Space Invaders Extreme, Picross, The Legendary Starfy, Peggle, Moon for FPS fun times, and a game that I think will REALLY talk to you in Retro Game Challenge.

Of course I have Contra 4 and Space Invaders. I need to get Professor Layton. I vowed to never again buy another M&L after Partners in Time.
What is Retro Game Challenge? I am intrigued.

WHAT WAS WRONG WITH PARTNERS IN TIME?!

M&L is awesome. Leaps ahead of that shitty four character schlock fest. The majority of the Mario stuff is done in 2D sidescrolling.
Retro Game Challenge is sort of like Wario Ware, but with games that were designed to be like old 8-Bit games. Games like Galaga, or those old top down racers and what not. You have to complete various challenges that they present to you. You can also unlock full length versions of all the games. And to learn secrets about the games and what not, they even have "GameFan" magazine, complete with news stories and greetings from the editor, and letters. It's a game with a great gimmick.

The thing I hated most about Partners In Time is the stupid gimmick of having four usable characters. Fuck baby Mario and Baby Luigi. It was cute in Yoshi's Island, but that's the fuck it.

For a company so concerned with dumbing everything down, it was a puzzling decision.
Nothing will ever top the original M&L anyway.

Except for Bowser's Inside Story, which is 10 times more awesome, which seems like an impossible feat.
