This is the first non-2D Sonic game I've looked forward to since the original Sonic Adventure. The game looks AMAZING for a Wii game, and most importantly of all it looks like a ton of fun. Let's hope Sega can redeem the Sonic franchise with this one.

This will be the one that will make or break the entire franchise. Not even the 2D handheld titles will save it. The only way they can restore the series to its former glory, is just a complete reboot to the continuity, character designs, and gameplay. They need to take it back to 1991. Forget all the characters introduced in the last eight years. That's the Sonic I knew and loved, not this garbage. Is Sonic on the Lindsay Lohan diet of coke, booze, and throwing up? Oh, and Sonic can take his furry little friends, and shove them all up his blue shark jumping ass. Except Knuckles. And the Chaotix. And Bark the Polarbear. And... um, Fang the Sniper. The next Sonic needs to be a 2D sidescroller, and the greatest game ever made.

Thank God it didn't bomb. I'm reallllly looking forward to this. It sucks to hear multiplayer didn't turn out so well, but I'm sure I'll be able to overlook it. This game looks amazing. Any new age gamer who thinks the Wii's graphics suck is retarded.

The multiplayer looks like Sonic Shuffle, so I'm excited about that. I loved Sonic Shuffle.

The verdict is in: this game is the greatest thing to happen to 3D Sonic ever.
And the wristband is bitchin', to boot!

I'm not quite sure how to feel about this game. It's either the best thing Sega has put out since NiGHTS, or something slightly better than Sonic Heroes. I'm going to play it to the end before I decide.
There are issues with the controls, but I guess this is the type of game you have to get used to. I had issues with the Sonic Adventure games, but I got used to the controls over time. The whole Arabian Nights theme feels incredibly random, and completely out of place for this series, but I think I like it. Tails as Ali Baba was absolutely adorable. Still, I think they should've saved this theme for a sequel, and stayed traditional.
Sonic's new voice actor has greatly improved since Sonic X. Sonic sounds a little more mellow, rather than the "in your face" style of the cartoons and the Adventure games. The music is horrible. I like it. It sounds like they pulled it from an episode of Power Rangers.

I'm really enjoying myself with this one. It's just a flat out fun game.

I'm sorry, but I'm just not as into this game as I should be. It's just as broken as Sonic Heroes, but a huge step above Shadow. The missions can be downright frustrating. I don't know how many times I almost wanted to throw my remote against the wall. Here's an idea, let's fucking stop with missions in Sonic games altogether. I'm even getting sick of the word "mission". I know Grand Theft Auto made it hip and all, but just stop it.
You know how it felt when you first played Super Mario 64? When I first made Sonic move by tilting the remote, I almost got that feeling for the first time on the Wii. Too bad the prologue drug on for way too long. The "choose a level/mission" menu system is just plain awkward. It really should've been set up like Sonic Adventure 2, or the Genesis titles.
I love the multiplayer. It's basically Sonic Shuffle 2. Sonic Shuffle, despite the load times, was perhaps my favorite multiplayer game on the Dreamcast. I'm hoping Sega might actually make a full on sequel for the Wii and/or DS, but the multiplayer mode in Secret Rings will do for now.
This isn't the game we've been waiting for, but at least it proves to me that Sega isn't completely incompetent. I realize this is their first Sonic game on the Wii, and I'm hopeful that a sequel may iron out the problems. Though I'd rather they make a 2D sidescroller next.

I'm still enjoying it. I kind of like the semi-RPG element in it too, the part where you can pick and choose what power ups he has in that particular level.

Yeah, I don't mind the missions as most people seem to, but I wish they'd do away with them, too.
Which multiplayer style do you guys like the best? I'm a big fan of the genie treasure chest one (not the Mario Party-ish board). The only bad part is when someone gets ahead so far that you know you can never get enough coins to beat them.
