Tecmo announced last night at its Nite Out press event that Rygar is coming back to Nintendo hardware with Project Rygar for the Wii. Little in the way of concrete details are available, but, according to IGN, players will use the Wii remote waggling to deploy Rygar's famous Diskarmor weapon.
Rygar has made only a handful of home appearances over his 21 year history, once each on the NES, Atari Lynx and PlayStation 2. The new Rygar, as you can see in the early artwork, looks quite different from his arcade and console predecessors. One could say extremely different.
Tecmo also announced at the event that an update to the Tecmo Bowl series was currently under development for one console, but no target platform was revealed.
Tecmo Bowl, eh? Whatever! Rygar!!!kotaku.com/gaming/rygar/new-rygar-coming-to-wii-259767.phpAwesome news. Rygar on the PS2 was pretty decent. I'm not sure how they're gonna do a new Tecmo Bowl without the NFL license, but whatever.
