Nintendo has stated that the next console Zelda game will be dramatically different. How would you like to see Zelda evolve?
First of all, I hope they kinda take a step back to the first Zelda game. Not the graphical style, of course, but the game should put you in the middle of nowhere, and let you figure things out on your own instead of pairing you up with some crappy, loudmouthed sidekick.
Now that that's out of the way, let's talk about gameplay. The Wii remote should actually somewhat mimmick how you swing the sword. If the technology in the remote isn't there, then that's a shame. But I know they could make it a little more precise, I mean in Twilight Princess, all you have to do is shake the fucking thing. That isn't innovative, it's teh gimmickry, and I don't like it one bit.
Voice acting? I'm on the fence about that. Link should keep his facehole shut, but it would be nice if NPCs actually spoke. Just please don't get crappy voice actors, Nintendo.
Graphics and Link's character design? You know what I'd like to see? The original NES Link, cel-shaded. I loved cel-shading in the Wind Waker, I just didn't like Link's character design. It just seemed like they were trying too hard to make him look like an anime character.
In my opinion, this is the best Link has ever looked. I would love to see a return to that instead of the ugly Wind Waker Link.
Twlight Princess graphics and a mature theme would be okay again, but I'd really like to see Nintendo go back to the roots of the series. Look in the instruction manual of the original Zelda. See the pictures? They look straight out of a Trinity Broadcasting Network cartoon. I would love to see a true take on that in a new, console Zelda game. Wind Waker almost got it right, but I felt it was too Chuck Jones-inspired.
As for story? Why not do something different like in Link's Awakening? Or they could do a retelling of the NES Zelda games, or make a sequel to Ocarina of Time where Link is a grizzled old man, fighting one last time.
What about you guys?
