I've just taken to reading comics online now, eventhough I claimed I wouldn't. I have other things to spend money on, and there's too many books out there to keep up with.

Plus it makes it easier to hid from the misses the sheer amount of complete geekitude you consume. She THINKS she knows, but she really doesn't

Oh she knows. We've made way too many impromptu Toys R us trips for it to be a secret.

I almost hate my comic shop now for the fact that the cool owner guy who knew me well enough to recommend comics that are awesome but he has to now work on another store and then they hired this guy who used to work at fucking Gamestop who was a complete tool.

Every GameStop has at least one cynical smartass clerk. A few months ago, I pointed to a LEGO Rock Band sign and asked when it was coming out, he replied with "hopefully never, it's the dumbest idea for a video game."

Dudes at Gamestop were FURIOUS that I didn't like Modern Warfare 2.

I try to interact with Gamestop employees as little as possible, which is why I buy most games at Best Buy.

Since I usually just buy used games anyway, I go to Gamecrazy most of the time. They're pretty cool there, and don't try to badger me into pre-ordering crap.

I can't wait for this guy to start wanting me to put down money to pre-order comics.

I can't wait for this guy to start wanting me to put down money to pre-order comics. Actually, since most comic shops have an account with Diamond Select, he just might.

The PSP just added an official comic book reader last night, starting next month you'll be able access a special store front and download real comic books. It would be nice if it reads .cbr or cbz formats, but I doubt it will.

Now I just know the Gamestop guy is fucking with me, he gave me 2 of the same issues of Amazing Spider-Man one being the normal cover and the other being the variant, and also didn't give me The Punisher which is also on my pull list. I really need to go through these comics before they ring them up.

Walking Dead Volume 1, TMNT #1 reissue, Scalped Vol. 5, and The Runaways Volume 1 were today's purchases. Good times.

Walking Dead kinda starts off slow but shit it is just amazing when it starts to pick up.
Also JJ when you read Runaways you should totally tell me how it is. It looks kinda interesting but I've been wrapped up in other stuff that I need to read that I haven't gotten around to checking it out, such as Invincible Iron Man which I just caught up on and it was so good and makes me love Iron Man again.

I LOVE 'The Walking Dead' as if that wasn't obvious enough. Fantastic book and I really hope it can make the transition to television without losing what makes it so great.
Has anyone read Locke and Key? Such a messed up, but fantastic book. It's a meta-series and the second part seems to have been released, but I can't find the entire thing on line.

Yay, I'll have to check it out, hopefully I can get some money for my old mangas at my comic store and I can pick up one of the volumes from that.

The complete volume 1 is 35 bucks, and it contains the main story and what was only going to be the only story. They kept it going for another "Season" and then Vaughan left and a couple more stories were created, one of which was written by Whedon. The the two non-Vaughan stories are sort of poorly received.

Oh shit I didn't know Vaughan did it now I really need to check it out and read the first volume of Ex-Machina I have but gave up on becuase I hate the art so much.
I actually just finished 100 Bullets, such a great story Azzarello is a fucking fantastic writer.

I looked for Runaways today but I guess they just sold out of them so I asked Gamestop man to order one for me. I did pick up volume 1 of Fables though which sounds like it is going to be great.

My sister picked this up for me today: It covers everything from the cartoon to comic book, no mention of the live action movie, but not a big deal.

So this board has been pretty dead.
Anyone reading anything good lately? I've been picking up trades for Fables which is such a good story and a real good twist on fairytale characters. And Powers which is written by Bendis (the guy who does a shit ton of regular superhero comics) which is about these detectives that investigate crimes that involve people with powers and it's a pretty awesome story.
I think I may try to find some trades of Scalped next.

Yeah I couldn't find it anywhere before but then I went to the last place I thought they would have had it which was Borders and I found that along with a good amount of other trades I wanted to read that they didn't have at my comic store.

Borders is a nice place because they tend to have some odd stuff that's either out of print or just kind of random.
