So, were you a Street Fighter kid, or a Mortal Kombat kid? I played the hell out of both back in the day, but I was always more of a Street Fighter guy. Still love Mortal Kombat though. Toasty!

When I was 12 and 13, MK. "YOU CAN KILL PEOPLE AND RIP THEIR HEADS OFF AN STUFF!" But as I got older, I started to appreciate Street Fighter more, and that became my favorite. And where's the option for Eternal Champions?

Mortal Kombat is the better arcade game but Street Fighter consistently translated better to the consoles.
Super Street Fighter II is legendary amongst my family...at parties we would without fail produce a Genesis, plug it in, and my entire cadre of similar-aged cousins and I would have a massive tournament with brackets and everything. The kind of shit talking and rowdyness involved was absoludicrous. Wait, what am I saying "was"...we still do it, which warms my damn heart. Such such good fun.
WHICH GUY AM I...OH SHIT I'M NOT KEN I'm FEILONG, OH SHIT OH SHIT MOTHERFUCK, YOU HADOUKEN WHORE

MK was always more about the fighter personalities than the actual movesets or fun of playing. I mean in reality, MK fighters had a very limited moveset when compared with SF fighters. It got better over time obviously, but I always was much more impressed with the combo system in SF and the easier-to-do special moves. Of course in certain situations that wasn't the best...see: (Knee, Tiger).

I think we can all admit though that the Mortal Kombat live action movie is better than the Street Fighter live action movie.

Street Fighter was leaps and bounds better than MK. In the arcade, and the home.

I've always loved Street Fighter way more than MK. I liked Mortal Kombat but I'd always find myself turning it off and putting in Street Fighter.
