Remember the McDonalds Sonic toys? I have all of them except Tails. Yeah, but I never had them for whatever reason. I also recall the LCD Sonic handhelds they put in Happy Meals.

SONIC POGS! DRUNKEN TAILS! Oh man, I can still recall stomping through my 1st grade class room like Robo Robotnik. I actually had a pog maker, and I used like 50% of the pogs and pasted on pictures from the Sonic comic series. As far as Sonic & Knuckles goes, that was one of the best presents I ever received. I don't remember being too excited about it for some reason. I guess I didn't even know it was coming out. Regardless, it's one of my favorite Sonic games. It had killer music, like all the Sonics. I used to go to my cousin's and play PS1 (right when it first came out), Sega Saturn, NES, Sega, Super NES, etc. I think it's the main reason why I'm so into video games. S&K and Virtua Fighter were two of the main games we played. I also loved Little Nemo: Dream Master. Anyone remember Bug? With the bug juice? There was another game for the Saturn where you controlled this toy. I loved that game. EDIT: I should never have sold that thing.

Just last night, I found one of those old Game Gear shaped cases that came with bubble gum and Sonic trading cards. I may scan them. I have some Nintendo ones as well that came in a Game Boy one. I still have those cases, believe it or not. The bubble gum's long been chewed, though.

And though I hate to admit it, I have a five foot stack of Sonic comic books, and I still buy them each month. It's just a habit I haven't been able to quit.

Hey Alex, did you ever get any of the Sonic figures they released a couple years ago?

Yup. I have those Sonic Adventure bendys that came out around 1999/2000, and the re-released Resaurus figures that came out just a few years ago. I have Sonic, Knuckles, Tails, and Robotnik. And the Joyride Sonic bendy. And I have like 20 Sonic night lights that I bought in bulk at a flea market a while back.

I should never have sold that thing. I wish I would've got a Saturn. I had to choose between the N64, and the Saturn, and I went with the N64 because of Mario, and I was always a Nintendo kid. If Sonic Xtreme hadn't been canned, though, I would've gotten a Saturn. Despite being a Nintendo fanboy, I was still a hardcore Sonic fan. Remember the ABC Sonic series? TGIF on Friday night, Sonic the next morning. God that was awesome. I think that's coming out on DVD next month.

I liked the cartoon. If nothing else, it kept Jaleel White from trying to do movies.

The Saturday morning cartoon was pretty good. I'm sure if I watched it now it would probably destroy precious memories.
The syndicated version was horrible. I mean, Jesus, it looked like it had been animated by a Special Olympics swimming team that was trying to make a snuff film or something.

Agreed. Take Captain N for instance. I had nothing but positive and glorious memories of that show. Several months ago I watched an episode on Youtube, and had my childhood shit on.

Same with the original Ninja Turtles. I saw an episode not too long ago for the first time since 1995. How did that garbage get on the air?

What always pissed me off about the turtles, is that they always promoted Mikey as if he were the most popular. I didn't know one person whose favorite turtle was Michaelangelo.

Michaelangelo was my favorite. I don't know if I decided that on my own, or if I was programmed by hype and marketing.

Back on the subject of Genesis games, has anyone ever actually played Super Hang On all the way through? I wanted to kill myself after the 5th race.

I liked Raphael in the original cartoon. Cartoon Raph is the greatest smartass of all time.
In the movies, I couldn't like him for some reason. He was too fucking angsty for my tastes. I guess it was just too different from the cartoon. I started to understand though when I started reading the comics years later.
I've taken a liking to Leonardo in the comics. In the cartoon, he was kinda dull and bossy, but he's easily the best character in the comics.

Oh yeah, outside of the cartoon Ralph is a straight up bitch. Comic Leo is awesome because he's not as vocal.
Funny thing about the comic, the Foot Clan was a lot more compotent than in the cartoon. In the cartoon they tripped over their own feet. In the comic, they have legitimately beaten the shit out of the turtles a couple times.

I love how the Foot clan were robots in the cartoon. Did the turtles ever use their weapons? I just remember them holding their weapons and twirling them around instead of actually fighting with them.

Aside from Mike using his chuks to trip someone, and Don using his bo as a pole vault, no. They usually just kicked, or threw guys at other guys.
